Manchester Monarchs president Jeff Eisenberg, who began laying the foundation for the city's professional hockey team before an arena was built, is leaving the front office to run a local advertising agency.
Eisenberg has purchased Vital & Ryze Advertising of Manchester and soon will end a nine-year run with the Monarchs, an American Hockey League franchise that fueled the renaissance of downtown Manchester.
The 53-year-old Eisenberg, the Monarchs' first employee, will lead the search for his replacement and stay in the hockey business until the transition is complete.
Manchester averaged more than 8,000 fans per game during its first eight seasons and twice the Monarchs have led the American Hockey League in attendance.
Eisenberg formed the Monarchs Care Foundation, which has donated to the community more than $1.5 million in various contributions since 2001. The Bedford resident serves as a board chair at Catholic Medical Center and as a board member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
Vital & Ryze, a marketing communications firm with headquarters on Dow St., has been renamed Eisenberg, Vital & Ryze. Eisenberg takes over as company president and will oversee all aspects of business operations.

For the fourth year in a row, the Manchester Monarchs Booster Club and the Lowell Devils Booster Club joined forces to raise funds for the Nashua Children’s Home, in the form of a trivia challenge. The total take from this event was $1000, $5 short of last year’s event. The grand total raised in the four years this event has been held is just under $2,985, all going to the Nashua Children’s Home.
